Saturday Bonus: Free Shakespeare In The Parklet

For those of you not going on the Bike Parade, we’ve just learned that the San Francisco Shakespear Festival is planning on putting on 10 minute Shakespeare performance in our parklet :-)  We won’t be there obviously, but it should be great :-)

It looks like they’ll be on at 1pm & doing a performance from Twelfth Night (see Day 11) below:

HOW COOL!

.ps We didn’t coordinate this with them, we just came outside the other day & found them rehearsing! :-)

Bike Rental Info for the Parade (& the Weekend)!

Folks -

As promised, we’ve gotten some rental bikes for the Bike Parade on Saturday 8/4.  Also we’ve collected a little info on other bike rental options both for the Saturday and for the weekend:

  • FOR SATURDAY: For those of you who RSVPed (on the form) we *should* have enough rental bikes available at our house - you’ll have to BRING $28.50 per bike & fill out some forms. It will be first come first served - so be prepared…
  • FOR SATURDAY OR MORE: Honestly, a bike is going to be the best way to get around for most of the weekend, but especially Saturday.  Here are two options:
    1. Find your own rental bike: Just Google “bicycle rental San Francisco" and a lot will come up.
    2. These guys seem to be the cheapest daily rate ($22): Dylanstours.com
  • MOST INTRIGUING OPTION: The most intriguing & possibly cheapest option sounds like this person-to-person bike rental service called Spinlister.com. Check it out. I don’t know anyone who has used it, but it is what we’d try. Let us know if you do!

About Parking…

We’ve purposely made our wedding easily accessible by public transportation, but realize some folks will still need to drive (and therefore park).
Please note that parking in the Mission is generally a challenge, and especially so during a popular event like Sunday Streets. We encourage you to walk, take BART (subway), or catch a Muni bus, walk, or bike to the festivities.
But for those who need to drive, here are tips for parking nearby:
  1. Mission Bartlett Garage: (closest)
  2. Street Parking (next best)
    • The streets a few blocks west of ours, Dolores, Church, Sanchez, etc., might be your best bet.
    • Be patient & leave plenty of time to drive around hunting.
    • Check the signs where you park, but in general there are no meters on Sunday.
  3. San Francisco General Hospital Parking Garage (LAST RESORT)
    • This garage is FAR, but the good news is that if you park there, and leave 30 minutes to walk to our house, you can walk along the Sunday Streets route (up 24th to Valencia!)
    • 2500 24th St
    • $7
    • All day (6:00 am to 6:00 pm) flat rate parking is available to vehicles entering between 6:00 am and 12:00 noon.

***As with all Sunday Streets events, the route will be towed of all cars starting at 7 a.m.***

Wedding Schedule Posted (At Long Last!)

At long last we have the real schedule of wedding events posted! It has been quite a long slog trying to figure all this out (sooooo many details…. sooooo busy!)  But it is all coming into focus & we’re getting excited again (rather than overwhelmed!)

Check it out under "Schedule!"  & if you think you’ll attend any of it - it would be a BIG HELP  if you fill out our quick questionnaire!

Honestly, wedding planning has been a bit of a slog as of late (partially because we’re so behind!) but today was super fun! We went and bought wedding outfits.  ’Deep’s wedding ceremony attire & Kimberly’s dance/reception attire!
